Software Asset Management
Reflex VMC and the vWatch module track and monitor all installed software applications on virtual machines, without using an agent or network scan. While keeping a low impact on the overall system, vWatch provides vital information about the software installed on VMs, including version, install date, patch level, etc. Gathering this information and storing it in the vCMDB allows users to wrap policy around it to make sure all installed applications are within compliance. For example, to ensure a VM or template has all of the appropriate patches an administrator can write a policy that states, "if any VM doesn’t have the appropriate patch level, quarantine it and alert by email."
