Reflex is looking for a competent, articulate person to assume a challenging position in an Automation Development role for our Virtualization Management Solution. Within this role, you will work with the Development team as well as Engineering Management to help build industry leading virtualization management solutions.

Job Description

The Automation Developer will be responsible for developing and operating a large scale distributed simulation system. The engineer will work directly within the development organization as a development team member. A successful engineer will participate in engineering requirements & design reviews. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, testing specific functionality of the product, working with a ticket tracking system, analyzing test results, verifying fixes, providing feedback in the product design and specification process, along with using Reflex Systems products to develop customer-focused test scenarios and real world applications.

Responsibilities

As an Automation Developer of Reflex, you will carry out issues to closure. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop distributed automation system
  • Develop automation reporting system
  • Develop virtualization specific automation capabilities
  • Conduct test simulations
  • Analyzing test results
  • Develop new test simulations
  • Perform white box testing of Reflex products
  • Write technical notes regarding product functionality
  • Verifying code compliance against multiple customer environments
  • Provide ticket reports to other members of the development team
  • Work with develop team to troubleshoot configuration, reporting, management, and core competency areas of the products
  • Research functionality and implementation of current and future testing techniques
  • Administer infrastructure equipment/configuration including DNS, Hypervisors, Linux based servers

Skills

The ideal candidate will possess the following prioritized skill set:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical related field or equivalent experience
  • Profound written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate with customers and their environments
  • Profound ability to perform critical thinking in problem solving
  • Strong knowledge of programming language fundamentals including maintenance, performance, refactoring, and longevity
  • Profound knowledge of Python scripting language including libraries, modules, generators, comprehensions, and decorators
  • Excellent ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • A good ability to break down and analyze the functionality of software programs
  • Outstanding knowledge of the Linux operating system including kernel compilations, use of drivers, types of file systems, process management, memory management, networking and monitoring
  • Good knowledge of testing applications and/or software components
  • 2+ years working in a commercial software application development environment. Non-professional experience will be evaluated for desired criteria
  • Ability to work in a motivated, maturing, fast paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to work in a hectic environment where you have to figure things out for yourself
  • A love of information technology
